Because... safety first.
Before you are eligible for IV iron therapy we need to have a consult so I can understand the full history and your goals with iron infusion therapy.
We'll review your blood work and do any relevant physical exams (blood pressure for example). If it's warranted and safe to do so, and we have enough time allotted ** we can do the first iron infusion that day or book you back in to begin.

TIME: 45 Minutes
I use Venofer (iron sucrose) as it comes with the lowest risk and best safety profile (for a clinic my size).
I recommend weekly infusions for a total of 4 treatments. Each week your IV will contain up to 100 mg of iron.
Your first treatment might be a modified dose, depending on what I learn in your injection consult.
Most see clinical improvements between 3 and 21 days after.
We typically see ferritin increase by 10-15 points for each 100 mg of iron administered (less if anemic).
We will rerun the Iron Panel and CBC approximately 4-5 weeks after your last treatment.

"Don't cry."
"There's nothing to be mad about."
"Everything is fine. There's no need to worry."
"Turn your frown upside down."
While these may be well-intended imperatives, they can have long term consequences on our physical, mental and emotional health.
These phrases teach us that it's NOT okay to feel what we're feeling. We learn that what we're experiencing is not appropriate and maybe even wrong.
Hearing sentences like this - especially when we're really young - trains us not to process our emotions effectively, so any emotional conflict we experience is left unresolved in our bodies where it can make us sick. Wah wah.
Think of it like this. Holding on to old hurts, resentments, and traumas, is like trying to keep a blown-up beach ball (or a unicorn floaty) under the surface of the water.
It takes a tremendous amount of muscle-shaking energy to keep the surface of the water calm (which is a facade anyways).

It doesn't even need to be a BIG, significant event such as the death of a loved one, divorce, abuse, accidents, heartbreak, etc.
It could very well be stress that you experience daily. You know, things like staying in a negative relationship, having a bully for a boss, being discouraged from expressing yourself, people pleasing or having an ill parent, etc.

Physical level: your endurance, strength, power, flexibility, vitality
Emotional level: your moods, affect, ability to adapt to stress
Mental level: your thoughts, concentration, focus, memory, rational thinking, creative problem-solving abilities
Intuitive level: your intuition, gut instincts, inspiration, divine downloads OR you're too sensitive to the stuff around you that isn't yours - taking on other people's dramas
Well.. they are exactly that. BLOCKS.
These residual, unprocessed emotions are blocking you from:

Healing your body
