If you don't have blood work yet, please book an injection consult here.
COST: $0 - 120 - $240
To be eligible for IV iron infusions I need to see recent bloodwork (taken with in the last 4 weeks)
You can either do this through your GP or Nurse practitioner or through me (billed privately). See below.
I need to see the following (costs if billed privately through my clinic):
Iron panel and CBC (about $120).
Liver & Kidney Panels, Electrolytes. (about $120).
COST: $180
TIME: 45 minutes
Because... safety first.
Before you are eligible for IV iron therapy we need to have a consult so I can understand the full history and your goals with iron infusion therapy.
We'll review your blood work and do any relevant physical exams (blood pressure for example). If it's warranted and safe to do so, and we have enough time allotted ** we can do the first iron infusion that day or book you back in to begin.
Please come to your appointment fed and hydrated.

I use Venofer (iron sucrose) as it comes with the lowest risk and best safety profile (for a clinic my size).
I recommend weekly infusions for a total of 4 treatments. Each week your IV will contain up to 100 mg of iron.
Your first treatment might be a modified dose, depending on what I learn in your injection consult.
Most see clinical improvements between 3 and 21 days after.
We typically see ferritin increase by 10-15 points for each 100 mg of iron administered (less if anemic).
We will rerun the Iron Panel and CBC approximately 4-5 weeks after your last treatment.
Please come to your appointment fed and hydrated.
Just because you're not conscious of something doesn't mean you're not responsible for changing it. What do I mean by something? Well, for the purpose of this, I'm talking about our habits, the things that we do day in and day out that lend our bodies to go down a path of health and wellness and aging gracefully or go down a pathway that creates inflammation, destruction in the body, deterioration in the body, and makes life really uncomfortable. I'm talking about those things.
What do I mean by unconscious? Well, most likely those things that you're doing or not doing to take care of yourself or not take care of yourself are being driven by unconscious patterns that have been habituated over time. Things that you practiced and learned and did over and over again. So now they're automated and you don't even think about them. They happen completely outside of your conscious awareness. This is what I'm talking about about unconscious. But here's the thing. Just because things are happening outside of your awareness doesn't mean you're not the one who's responsible to change those things. So if there's something that's not going well in your health or your life, that's on you to change.
Of course, I'm happy to support you to change those things. But the first step is to recognize that you're the one in charge. And yes, shit might have happened to you in the past that made those programs easier to become habituated, and life might be really stressful right now, and so it's more convenient to stay and what's comfortable? But I always ask myself this question. What's more convenient? Me taking 20 minutes to prepare a meal for myself, or me being inebriated by arthritis, diabetes, hypertension, obesity, cardiovascular disease, and the risk profile that comes with that. When I just stop and get something convenient and gross and void of nutrients at the drive through, I'm in charge. I'm in charge, and you're in charge. I'm in charge of my body and therefore my results. And you're in charge of your body and therefore your results.
Now, I know change is hard and can be really uncomfortable, which is why I'm really advocating for people to come in for IV nutrient therapy. Is it about changing your habits? No. But I find most people are so depleted and so exhausted that they don't have the mental, emotional capacity or bandwidth to think about changing their habits, to think about getting in charge and changing these things that are automated. And nutrient IV therapy allows us a little bit more room inside, a little bit more energy, space, a little bit more mental clarity, so those changes become a bit more accessible. And that's why I often suggest doing that first. Getting your tanks filled up, getting fueled up. It's going to be way easier to drive your car with gasoline in the engine.
