** ^^ This button will take you to calendar with the "Iron infusion consult and treatment" selected. This will ensure we have enough time to do both. Please only book this if you already have your blood work complete. (If you have your blood work already please email it ahead of time). If you don't have blood work yet, please book an injection consult here.
COST: $0 - 120 - $240
To be eligible for IV iron infusions I need to see recent bloodwork (taken with in the last 4 weeks)
You can either do this through your GP or Nurse practitioner or through me (billed privately). See below.
I need to see the following (costs if billed privately through my clinic):
Iron panel and CBC (about $120).
Liver & Kidney Panels, Electrolytes. (about $120).
COST: $180
TIME: 45 minutes
Because... safety first.
Before you are eligible for IV iron therapy we need to have a consult so I can understand the full history and your goals with iron infusion therapy.
We'll review your blood work and do any relevant physical exams (blood pressure for example). If it's warranted and safe to do so, and we have enough time allotted ** we can do the first iron infusion that day or book you back in to begin.
Please come to your appointment fed and hydrated.

I use Venofer (iron sucrose) as it comes with the lowest risk and best safety profile (for a clinic my size).
I recommend weekly infusions for a total of 4 treatments. Each week your IV will contain up to 100 mg of iron.
Your first treatment might be a modified dose, depending on what I learn in your injection consult.
Most see clinical improvements between 3 and 21 days after.
We typically see ferritin increase by 10-15 points for each 100 mg of iron administered (less if anemic).
We will rerun the Iron Panel and CBC approximately 4-5 weeks after your last treatment.
Please come to your appointment fed and hydrated.
Are you deficient in B vitamins? Three ways to know. Hold on before we get there. And we will. Do you even know what a B vitamin is? Uh, if you heard that with a judgy tone, unpack that because I'm actually legitimately curious. It's a topic that most folks have no clue about, and this is your body. Okay, now maybe I'm getting a little judgy, but please keep listening.
What is a B vitamin or vitamin equals vital Amine. It's an organic substance that your body needs to survive and thrive. B vitamins are not one thing. In fact, there are eight essential B vitamins that your body uses for everything, including metabolism, energy production, detoxification, nervous system regulation and immune balance. That is not the entire list by a long shot. B vitamin deficiency can look like a lot of things, including low energy, depression, slow metabolism, low appetite, irritability, skin rashes, stomach pains, confusion, weakness, anemia, nerve pain, blurry vision, nausea, vomiting, sensitivity to light, sore mouth, digestive problems, eye fatigue, numbness, tingling… That is not the entire list by a long shot.
Are you B vitamin deficient? Way to know. Number one, you have any of the symptoms I just mentioned. Scroll back and re listen. Of course, some of those symptoms are quite general and could be due to a lot of other things.
Are you B vitamin deficient? Way to know. Number two, you're on the birth control pill, which has been shown to deplete several B vitamins, including folic acid, vitamins B2, 6 and 12. Or you're taking any of the following medications, proton pump inhibitors and other antacids, steroids, including inhalers for asthma, blood pressure drugs and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, ibuprofen, etc. That is not the entire list by a long shot.
Are you B vitamin deficient? Way to know. Number three. You use any kind of substance, alcohol, weed, etc, whether it be recreationally, socially or more intensely. Your body uses B vitamins to process, detoxify and eliminate those substances. Over time, if not replenished, your B vitamins will deplete and create problems related to deficiency.
A great way to replete, IV nutrient therapy. Why? Because when we administer B vitamins intravenously right into the bloodstream, the nutrients get delivered directly to cells without needing to A. get absorbed in the gut and B. pass through the liver instead. They get dropped off right where they need to be. Think of it like getting a delivery right to your door versus your rural.
